Winter Gashuku - March 2013

 

We begin the day at 7.30 with an early morning walk on the Winterton On Sea Nature reserve ...

 

-5 degrees in driving wind and sleet, but it's how Karate people like it !!!

Training at Great Yarmouth dojo, this years club's are represented by sensei: Steve Marriott 5th dan, Colin Needham 5th dan, Kevin Leigh 6th dan, Ivor Garner 6th dan, Paul Filenczuk 5th dan.

 

 

The class was first split into six groups, with the sensei's taking turns with each group.

 

 

 

 

This years Gashuku is once again devoted to competition kumite..

 1pm...

Sensei Leigh tests the students jumping ability...

 3pm...

We finish the day with six man demos which prove there are students with some great imagination, anything goes...

 

Training over so now off to the pool !!!

The swimming pool is a great way to ease those aching muscles...

 8.30pm

Saturday night at Hermanus for the Fancy dress party!!! The bar staff once again are ecstatic see us...

Some great outfits with everyone making a tremendous effort to win this year..

    Sensei's Needham and Garner dream of the life they could have had...

The evening brings out the alter egos of the normally reserved karate-ka..
